This “ultimate 3-in-1 grab-it gadget” is the extra help my Dad needed and now can’t live without.
I remember the moment I realized my Dad was getting old.
It was a Sunday afternoon, and my husband and I had brought the kids over.
Dad wanted to show them a picture of himself as a kid, so he went to grab a photo album from the top shelf of the bookcase.
He grabbed a chair to stand on….but it still wasn’t quite tall enough.
So he stretched on his toes a bit….and then quickly grabbed his lower back in pain.

“No no, I’m fine!”

Below I share our experience, but first….
What Is ODii?
At first glance, ODii looks like something out of a spy movie.
It’s got an extendable metal claw, a detachable magnetic rod, and an LED flashlight – all things your favorite “00” might use on a regular day.
In reality, it’s something much more practical. ODii was made for one simple reason – to help people like my dad and I bring out-of-reach things a little bit closer.
From the no-man’s land between your car seats, to that box at the very top shelf of the closet, ODii makes getting things in tough spots a breeze.
How Do You Use It?
While ODii looks like a crazy spy tool, it’s REALLY simple to use – there’s no assembly required, and you can use immediately, right out of the box.
When you want to pick something up, you just extend the claw all the way and you’re ready to grab!
Our First Experience With ODii
Spoiler alert: it’s really friggin cool and SO helpful!
The first thing we noticed about it was how easily it snagged all types of things.
ODii’s special four-pronged claw is really a wonder. It’s precise enough to grab tiny things in tight spaces (like a ring that slips down the drain), but also sturdy enough to grab and hold larger items up to 10 pounds! (like the edge of a phone between the seats in your car).
Most of those pick-up tools you see on commercials are spring-loaded, which means they grab everything the same way.
With ODii, you can actually change the grip strength, depending on the weight of whatever you’re lifting.
You can easily adjust it so that it’s tight enough to grab something fragile – or give it enough hold to pick up a pair of jeans without slipping.
My dad actually had a lot of fun testing it out around the house – small picture frames, cups, change from under the couch….even picked up a jacket that fell off the hanger lifted pretty easily.
ODii is also the right length. I appreciate the fact that it extends long enough to reach behind furniture and in crevices – which means he doesn’t have to bend or stretch much to grab phones, remotes, and other things that slip behind/under the couch.
ODii’s magnet and light are also a pretty handy addition. The detachable magnetic wand is a HUGE advantage when pulling out or grabbing anything metal like keys, phones, pots and pans, coins, etc…
And this isn’t some wimpy refrigerator magnet we’re talking about here…ODii’s magnet can attract and hold objects as heavy as 2 pounds!
Oh, and another plus…. It folds up really well so it’s very easy to store. He tucks it nicely in his kitchen drawer so it’s there when he needs it and out of the way when he doesn’t.

To say my dad is happy with his ODii is an understatement. He uses it for so many things around the house now and no longer has to strain his back or dangerously step on a chair or stool to grab something high up.
It also gives me peace of mind knowing my dad is safe from falling or straining his back.
If that wasn’t enough – it’s also a very practical buy considering how well it’s made and how often he uses it. He really needed something like this and given the extra features and the affordable price – it’s been a no-brainer. I even bought one for our house as well and my husband and kids love it!
